Two weeks ago, we got these tools to break up and clean bricks. There was an old step we need to remove, under a door we will be eliminating.
It quickly became apparent that these tools were not up to the task. (Or maybe the operator wasn't up to the task.)
Then the Handyman rented a Makita hammer drill thing to push the ground rod into the soil at the new electrical service panel, and he let me use it to break up the old step.
What a difference! He and I took turns driving it and we got that old step out in a few hours.
It only weighs twenty pounds, but it sure looks big, doesn't it?
Unfortunately, these bricks were mortared in really well, and they got broken up by the hammer drill thing, which made them unusable.
Luckily, there are lots of old bricks all over the property, and they have been easier to clean. I used a bunch of them to make a walkway to the gate.
We put out four garden refuse bins every week and it was killing me to drag them over the haphazard, uneven stepping stones at this gate. This new walkway makes it much easier!

Love your walkway!
