We took a road trip to British Columbia, Canada this month. Our first stop was Butchart Gardens on the southern tip of Vancouver Island.
The gardens feature amazing collections of soft tropicals like fuchsias and begonias, and a wonderful seasonal display of dahlias.
The Sunken Garden was originally a limestone quarry. Tons of topsoil were brought in a hundred years ago to create the garden you see today. There is also a Japanese Garden, an Italian Garden, and a Rose Garden.
Late summer blooms featured lots of dahlias, but there were still plenty of colorful annuals and other garden favorites.

If you ever get the opportunity to visit the Butchart Gardens, I highly recommend it. No matter the season, it will not disappoint.
